Via Rastello
Via Rastello is a journey through the historical street Via Rastello in Gorizia, Italy. Via Rastello once was the commercial center of the city but it's popularity declined over the years. On my toes, I walk on the tracks of an 18th-century tram that once drove through the street.

The work is a performative act as well as a film and has been presented as an audiovisual installation in both Italy and the Netherlands. The film shows in a journey from morning to evening the contrast between the remaining liveliness and the emptiness of the street.

In The Shoes of Via Rastello the film Via Rastello is presented in an audio-visual installation at Via Rastello no. 8, where a shoe shop was present for more than 60 years. Now the shop is empty, but the shop window remains as a memory it once was.
Presenting the walk in this shop adds to one of the many contrasts that are present in Via Rastello, mixing history with the present, liveliness with absence and shoes with bare feet.

Le scarpe di Via Rastello
L'installazione ricerca la storia della città attraverso i corpi che la attraversano. Essendo stata per lungo tempo il centro commerciale della città, nei secoli migliaia di persone hanno attraversato Via Rastello e con essa sono entrate a far parte della sua storia.
Nell'opera due piedi camminano sulle punte in un luogo dove un tempo passava un tram. Uno spazio vuoto che era un negozio die scarpe trasforma questo viaggio in un'installazione artistica, intersecando, ricordi e attualità, vivacità e assenza, scarpe e piedi nudi.
