Why are we nervous? What happens in our mind and bodies when we need to perform?
In the Frisian documentary ‘Senuwen’ (Nerves), I follow young gymnast Iris at the Frisian championships in Dokkum, The Netherlands.
The film explores the beam, an event that often makes the nerves reach their peak. What makes beam such a nerve-racking apparatus? And can our nerves also be good for something?
